Week 13 - Weebly

This week we made our own online portfolio that includes our personal experience, education, skills and awards, hobbies and interests, references, and a link to our blogger page.
The benefits of having an online portfolio is so your future boss can see it online and at any time.

I liked the weebly site because it was easy to customize. The thing I didn't like was that I was confused most of the time when I first stared making my portfolio.

I would use weebly in my future classroom for my students to keep a record of all the activities they do, it'll be useful to them later on in life.

Week 7 - Quiz

This week we went on www.quizyourfriends.com and made our own quiz about either facts about the sun or facts about cats. I chose to make the quiz on facts about cats because I don't like cats and I thought if I got more information on them I might change my mind.

I would give this site a 10 because it was very easy to us and very user friendly. I would use this in my classroom to make quizzes because it's so easy. I would just write the question, write the answers and have my students take the quiz online.

Week 6 - Pixton

In today's class we went on pixton.com and made our own comics about technology. My comic is pretty basic because I didn't really have any creative thoughts in my mind. It was actually really hard for me to think of a good way to make a comic about technology.

I liked this website because it allows us as future teachers to find our creative bones in our body and try to interact it with education.
I would rate this site a 10 because it was very fun and entertaining to make our own comics. I loved how easy it was to use.

Week 14 - Slide Share

My partner Michelle and I worked on the topic "Using Weblogs in the K-12 grade curriculum". For the presentation we used www.slideshare.com. We chose this topic because we thought that it would be easy and it was. When we compared slideshare to prezi, slidedshare was more user friendly and ultimately that's why we chose to use it. I definitely would use this software again because I feel comfortable with it.
I would rate both me and my partner a 10 on our presentation because we worked really hard on it and we did our best. If I were to do this project again I would maybe put more animation into the powerpoint because we didn't have any.
I would use this software in my classroom for presentations. When students have things to present I would have them use this software because it’s as easy as tying your shoes.

Week 10 - iMovie

In this assignment my group members; Michelle, Ray Ray, Mark, and I; created a new invention that could help teachers in the classroom environment. My partners and I invented the "Teleportation" devise. this devise could teleport a troubled student to either the principles office, the counselling office or home if needed. A special feature that is also on the devise is a bugger that shuts down all technology in a particular classroom so that the students can focus all their attention on the teacher.

The features that we used were the movie themes, slow motion, voice pitch changer, slides, and subtitles. I personally didn't edit the movie, I let the boys be in charge of that part, but I did most of the filming.
The thing that I liked about I-Movie was all the different features that it has. If I were to compare it to the windows movie maker, I would use the I-Movie because its more updated. There was nothing that I didn't like about I-Movie.

I would use I-Movie in my classroom because its fun and my future students could do projects about themselves or as a movie/book review.

I didn't really like using the flip camera because I had to convert the mp4 file to an mp3 file on my own computer. I think that if the file wasn't that big I would continue using it. I did like the convenience of turning on the devise and being able to record right away.

I really love this assignment and I give it a 10.

Week 5 - WebQuest

I believe that the concept of the WebQuest is to be able to teach students in a way that they could be interested in and learning from. As my partner and I were searching the topics other teachers have done we came upon the topic "Dinosaurs".
When we viewed the WebQuest we heard a song that I loved and we chose it as our topic. My partner and I wanted to teach the students about dinosaurs from the Cretaceous Period.
The WebQuest will improve our students learning by teaching them about dinosaurs that lived before our time.
The most important lesson that I learned from this activity is teamwork.
At first I didn't like this software because it confused me, but now I like the software because I feel comfortable using it.
The thing that I would change for a future project would be my topic. I think that I'd like to do something different.
